Showerhead softeners

I'm so tired of my very hard water, its been such a battle. I've been wanting to invest in a showerhead that softens water. I've been doing some research but I'm getting some mixed results. I do know there is a difference between filters and softeners.g.I've been thinking of trying the Culligan water filter, many reveiws stated they had less mineral build-up after usin Does anyone know of any good showerhead softeners? Has anyone had success with them?
