I've been doing no poo (with BS as shampoo every few days and WV as conditioner occasionally) for almost a month now, and I've hit a strange milestone: I've gone one week without shampooing my hair with baking soda.
A month ago I was using cheap, chemical shampoo and conditioner on my hair every night. I can't believe how fast my hair routine has changed. And even though I'm at the end of day 7, my hair / scalp looks cleaner than it used to look when I missed only one shampooing. Really, it wouldn't have been greasy even today had I not missed my shower (and daily wet scalp massage).
I've gotten better at physically washing my hair too. Apparently I was too reliant on the lather before. Once I developed a new method of washing my scalp (this week), my head stopped having a grease spot on my crown.
(It's a hard to get spot for WO! It's midway between washing it from on top and washing it with your head flipped over. I stand up with my back to the running water and massage the back of my scalp. Then I peel a chunk of hair forward and massage my trouble spot again. I repeat this until I've reached the core, the center of my head.)
What has been a milestone for you?
