No Poo and Swimming?

I've been no poo for a few months now, but I'm wondering what people do after swimming.  I swim 4 to 5 times a week and sometimes i just rinse my hair and scrub my scalp with my fingers, and try to rinse enough to get all of the chlorine out.  Other times I use baking soda at the pool shower but I find it hard to get all of my hair "clean".  Any ideas for what I should do?

Are you saturating your hair with tap water before you get in the pool? If your hair is soaked with regular water, it doesn't have any room to absorb all that nasty chlorine.

If that doesn't help, I'd suggest checking the tags. There's one for chlorine and salt water. :) Good luck.

ah i didnt see the chlorine tag. for some reason i stopped looking after i saw that there was no "swimming" tag. thanks!

One thing you can do (if you don't mind looking a tad bit greasy) is to apply olive oil to your hair before you get in. It helps the chlorine stay out in the first place. You can also use a swim cap, and use olive oil around the edge to 'seal' the water out.

No poo for swimmers

I have been no poo for about 6 months, and I swim 3x a week. The BS/ACV works great for me. My hair still gets a little crispy from the chlorine (I detest caps and sort of like the blond highlights anyway). I use 2T BS to 2C hot water (as hot as I can stand) and then 2T ACV to 2C hot water. Lots of scrubbing, and make sure you rinse out the BS really well or your hair will feel very dirty. The ACV closes the cuticle; very important step. I tried BS and then conditioner -- yuck. My hair looked and felt horrible. Now that I have my routine, I have never gotten more compliments on my hair!!! A little Moroccan Oil afterwards really seals the deal.
